About Our Logs
We offer some of the driest logs in the industry. It takes years for a log to truly dry out. Idaho’s arid climate contributes to our reputation for having such dry logs. Our logs are cut from standing dead timbers, or they are air dried to ensure a low moisture content. When a log is truly dry there is a much lower chance of settling, unexpected cracking and twisting. Additionally, log homes that are built using truly dry logs have less settling than those of a kiln-dried, or a home being built using logs that are still green.

Our logs are TP graded (Timber Products Inspection, Inc.). TP is the largest wood inspection agency in the nation. TP is the only ALSC approved grading agency that has representation in all regions of the United States. TP grading rules and design values are based on the nationally recognized standard ASTM D3957 (standard methods for establishing stress grades for structural members used in log buildings).
